About Laurie Sequana

Laurie Sequana has been creating beauty, in one way or another, for her whole life.

As a young child she copied the line drawings in her coloring books, rather than coloring in the lines. As a teacher, then a therapist, she always incorporated art into her work.

Over the years she has used her artistic eye to decorate her homes and offices, create functional pottery and delightful goddess sculptures, make and teach collage, and journal her emotions through pastel and marker mandala making.

While traveling with her husband, house and pet sitting, Laurie yearned for a way to satisfy her creative need. While in La Peñita de Jaltemba, Mexico she found a painting teacher who taught weekly classes. Thus she discovered her current passion for watercolor painting.

Working with an online teacher and his community of art students, Laurie Sequana has grown rapidly in her understanding of the medium of watercolor. She uses her paintings to convey her love of the world.

She especially enjoys capturing the people, pets and wild beings of the world engaging in creativity and discovery. But, if some beauty catches her eye, a radiant smile, a lovely tree, a vase of flowers…these might also be her muse.
